Carter Starter. S-10 3x4. Wooden Case built by previous owner. Pickup works but has low output so buyer may wish to replace it. Comes with case, volume pedal, and tone bar. Price is $650 plus shipping.
A,B,C pedals are Emmons set up
LKL raise E's
LKR lower E's
RKL lowers string 5 B to Bb
RKR lowers string 2 D# to D
As far as I know this is the only set up available for Carter Starter steels and is not (easily) changeable. |

How well does it hold tune? Never owned a steel but have always wanted one and am excited to get started! I am just new to the whole thing and want to make sure that I will be able to gig this guy without having to tune it in the middle of a tune. Thanks Andrew |

Guitar is sold.
Andrew to answer your question:
I think the guitar stays in tune very well, especially for a student model. I would practice on it, come back the next day to practice again and only had to make minor adjustments, if any. I also never had any issues with any of the pulls not returning all the way. I think the Carter Starter is a good option for someone wanting to get started but with a limited budget. However, I've never played a StageOne or a GFI student model so I cannot compare to either of those.
