Richard, there should be a slight cut compared to going straight to the amp without a pedal but no where near cut in half. It seems to me the pedal needs the string adjusted. If you are losing a lot of volume the pedal must be travelling a ways before the sound starts coming on. Is that the case? If so what kind of pot is in it? Does the post have a screw driver slot in the end of the shaft?

The pot seem to set at a angle and the string is wrapped around the shaft about one and one half times and held by a small allen bolt..Im putting a pic the best I can...

Richard, look inside the brass pulley see if there is a screw driver slot in the end of the pot shaft.
Also, with the pedal hooked up and amp on check and see if the pedal travels some distance before sound starts. Let me know. Also, do you have a 7/64" allen wrench that will fit that allen bolt?

No screw driver slot, looks like a brass sleeve over a steel shaft...I will test the travel for sound in the morning as
busy with kids right now.. will post my finding for your review...thanks for the help...Maybe I just not use to the low profile....

Low profile works as well as the standard. It should start coming on right when you start to press the pedal with no "free" travel. If there is any such travel the pot will not come completely on and the pedal needs adjusted. Is the pot natural metal colored or is it black?

The pot is black, seems to sound right away on bass string
but needs more travel on treble strings..Could it be the pick up??
