Andrew
I don't know of any "teachers" in Atlanta area, but I would be glad to help you any way I can and I also know probably all the steel pickers in the area.

We also have a newly formed Georgia Steel Guitar Association that will have it's first meeting in June.

Send me an email and I will give you some numbers to contact me.

I don't know if he teaches, but Tommy Dodd is a great player who lives in Atlanta. Tommy might know someone who teaches if he doesn't. Tommy posts on The Steel Guitar Forum, so try a search and e-mail him.

Good luck! Let me know if you have trouble reaching Tommy and I'll try to help.

I live in Cartersville, just north of Atlanta, and currently have one steel student. (I also teach guitar, mandolin and banjo.) I am going back out on the road with Lonestar beginning April 22, so I am dropping all students except for my steel student. If you would be interested and could be flexible on scheduling around our tour schedule I would be up for adding another steel student. Drop me an email and we'll talk more.
