Just wondering about this....

Has anyone messed with straight slide guitar, tuned to C6 (or similiar)? Obviously, slants would be weird to impossible, but otherwise, why not?

Never heard of anyone doing it......

I imagine one could do it but would probably entail re-cutting the nut to accept smaller strings.

FWIW, I did it on a '72 Telecaster Custom RI, and used a Fender LSR roller nut with raised action

...and a six-lever much-modified Bigsby Palm Pedal (and roller bridge).

Started playing with E9, but reverted to C6 to get over some initial issues....kept (at the time) the RI WRHB in the neck and put a S-D Jerry Donahue in the bridge position.

The machine does not currently see much daylight these days, as other (guitar-synth) projects have taken over most of the available time.. Sad
Hopefully it will get to live again when time permits.. ...no plans to sell !

HTH
