I am Selling this Teac outfit. I have to move and hate to part with it, along with so many other things, but can’t carry it all with me. This machine came from an estate about 3 years ago and it has been used to transfer some old tapes to digital media. It has been about 2 years since I have had it set up to use. What I know is; it played back good on all 4 tracks but there is one that doesn’t record. It is so difficult to find fresh tapes that I cannot tell you much more than that. I gave up on using it as a recorder because I don’t have the money to get it serviced and brought back up to usable standards. I plugged it in and it powers up and rolls tape. I didn’t hook up an amp or anything as my tape started clogging up the transport due to age and the oxides coming off.

Includes everything you see here; the machine plus a Teac Model 2 mixer which was working last time I had it hooked up. Also a sound on sound adapter I suppose for use in tandem with other machines. Also a few accessories including two fresh take up reels, some cleaning pads, a Sony demagnetizer, and the Teac Remote unit which works fine. Also a Teac AX20 mix down panel(basically a passive switch network) for quick and dirty mixdowns.

I can’t seem to put my hands on any good tape to test it with, so am selling it as-is and hope it finds a home someplace. Please understand it will need a thorough going-over by someone who understands how to do the servicing on these.

This machine is heavy and delicate, therefore I can't really ship it. We'll need to make arrangements to meet up and do the transaction in person.

Here’s some stuff I transferred from the tapes I had; https://archive.org/details/BluegrassGroupFromThe1970s-Tape1

Thanks!

Sorry, When I try to reply to your emails-it won't send.

Like you it is too far to travel.

I live in La Grange, NC and will be heading there right after Thanksgiving.

Hope you have luck selling and not too much trouble moving!
Thanks

Glen
