I am new to the forum.. I found a national double neck steel guitar at an estate sale this weekend. It is in really good shape, and I looked up the dates and I think it is a 54 model .It has the adjustable steel legs, and I will post pictures of it when I learn how to in this forum. I am an experienced guitar player, I play the blues and rockabilly, and have been a pro for 20 years, but have been playing for over 40 . I was in a band with one of the best pedal steel players I have ever heard, named Mel Stephens. He passed away last year, I am sorry to say. He showed me a little on his pedal steel, but I have no idea how to play or even tune this one. I will probably sell it, but I trust other players to tell me what to do with it. Guys that have been playing them for a while are going to know a lot more than I do. so, pictures coming soon. It does have the original case, and looks to be complete minus one side pick guard. Nice pictures. Much later model than mine and in much, much better shape. Hope you decide to play it. Joe |
