That sounds like Dicky Overby's work to me . The style and the tone. The vocal I don't know but the steel backup is nice. That's what counts for me anyway ! |

I sure do miss Dicky. Anything Bobby Flores does is always first class. No mistaking Bobby or Dicky. If you've ever listened to either one of them it kind of sticks with you forever.

Rick,
Bobby probably uses more Steel Players on his recordings than any singer I know. In my opinion Bobby Flores is a World Class Singer and Musician who can play most any Instrument he picks up!
Usually he will have Randy Reinhard, a great Steel player on Piano, Jim Loessberg, another great Steel Player, on Drums and Rick Price, another great Steel Player, playing Steel and of course Dicky Overbey and Tommy Detamore playing Steel on many recordings...not to mention the fact that Bobby Flores can hang with the best Steel Players in Texas too. Jake Hooker or Justin Trevino will usually be playing Bass and are very good singers in their own right too.
I have most all of Bobby's CD's and when I get to thinking Country Music is dead I play some of his cd's for a shot of how it's supposed to be done.

Roger,
I totally agree. Probably 95% of my CD purchases for the past 10 years came from Tracy Pitcox Heart of Texas, Yellow Rose Records, or some other coming from these TX guys. Tommy Detamore has helped me a lot with my studio. He's a super picker, producer, and engineer.....and a great guy to go with it. I just got Justin's live CD. Really good stuff.
