Hello Mr. Anderson,
I'm a new steeler, learning to play on an old MSA Classic. It's really been a pleasure.
I was hoping you might be able to tell me whatever info you might have on this steel. It's a black Classic, serial# 1C-2172.
Thanks! |

Bill....First of all may I thank you for owning an MSA. I'm always happy to be of help and answer any questions concerning MSA.
Serial Number 1C-2172 shows to be a black single 10 which left the factory with 5 pedals and 4 knee levers. It's original destination was CMI, who was our distributor in Chicago at the time. They of course sold it to a music dealer, but the trail ends there as far as our records are concerned.
On the 13th of this month your guitar turned 30 years old. Records indicate the date of manufacture as being March 13th 1974.
I wish you many more happy years playing your guitar and thank you for being part of MSA's ever growing family. |

I just got a D10 and 11 MSA at a garage sale. Red pickups...old Grover sta-tite tuners..birdseye maple. I can't find any numbers. Any other way to ID the birthday or year? I can email pics. Thanks! Larry |
