Does anybody know how many of the 7 string Sho~Bro's were made?
Also, what sort of price range do they fit into in good shape?

Larry,
Sho-Bro reso guitars were produced from late 1960s up until the late 70s. Some bulit by Shot Jackson and some built by Gretsch. There is an interesting story and timeline of Sho-Bro posted on the net by Ric Nelson that seems fairly accurate. It's worth a google. I would think less than 100 seven string guitars were made by Shot Jackson and certainly not much more than that in total. They simply didn't catch on to the bluegrass dobro players of the era. I believe it would be a different story if they were being built today.
I have a 7 string believed to be built by Shot. It is signed and labeled made in the USA inside. Wouldn't take a zillion dollars for it. Recently, I've seen them priced from $700 to $2000 depending on condition, build place and build date.
I remember back in the day when bluegrass dobro players slighted Sho-Bro for thier fat loud tubby sound and how expensive they were. Funny, now, that sound is what all of the makers and players are striving for. My Sho-Bro is one of the best sounding I've owned.

Tommy I am sort of hijacking the thread but I have the Last hand made Sho=Bro that Shot and Bill Merrit built just before Shot passed. It is a six string and I am proud to own it. Tommy you could pick a commode seat with strings and make an Angel smile!

Steve,
You are too kind sir. It takes a good instrument to bring out my best,
Shot saw to that.
You definately should hang on to the guitar Shot built for you, as there are no more!
I had the last reso built by Bill Merrit and Gene Wooten,(Slyde) great sounding guitar.😊
