looking for a pair of vintage replacements for my Dobro - also would consider newer machines that are a solid replacements but that fit look/feel of this 1937 piece - thanks |

Solid headstock or slotted headstock?
Waverlys are indeed great tuners but if you are trying to go for the "period correct" look, then Waverlys wouldn't be a good choice - I don't believe Dobro ever used them.
As far as seeking out original vintage tuners as used on prewar Dobros, I personally would avoid them. Unless the guitar they came off of was stored in an almost perfect environment over many decades they might not function very well - and for that matter they might not have functioned all that great back in the '30s when the guitar was new.
