Another enjoyable show last weekend. The 14th year.

I only managed to catch the Saturday sessions but was most impressed with Mickey Adams - visiting from the USA.

Joe Wright was his usual excellent self.

Paddy ...

.Very pleased to see you are still active....I was very surprised to hear about your health problem....I hope its not going to keep you away from Dallas

The Irish festival was very good this year.

Joe wright has to be the best player for ability and entertainment on the circuit ...He was his usual brilliant self and everyone in the hall, really appreciated him

MICKY ADAMS, What a guy.

...Mickey showed up in Ireland, probably not as well known to the general steel public as some players .....Well I can tell you...by the time he left, everybody was talking about him....He Played his sets on both days....Played Guitar in the band, sang some very nice songs......He is also a very fine lead guitar player. and a good vocalist ..That part caught every one by surprise...Nobody that knows him, seen that coming.....We sure hope he comes back next year

Now then...Its about time you showed up... You would be a great guest to have on stage

People here will be blown away with your superb playing and as you say you could nip down to Tipperary...about an hour and a half drive from the show.....Ok that's the scoop...Ted and I are looking forward to rubbing shoulders with you at Dallas and its your turn to buy breakfast in Denny's...Keep well

.

Ivor thanks mate, yes I will be in Dallas next year, I'm playing the main stage after all so I can't miss that mate hehe ! I'm doing a lot better in the health department so thats good, just played my first gig back last weekend - exhausted afterwards but it was great.

I heard Mickey play steel, guitar and sing when he was in the house band at Billy Bobs a couple of years ago - very good all round muso that lad.

Your shout at Commonwealth corner :-}

I endorse everything above. Mickey played guitar for my set - what a treat! What a tremendous time and fantastic hosts. I was made to feel right at home. Please make contact with me should anyone be heading down under so we/I can reciprocate!! A huge shout out to the band! I am not sure I followed any of my charts but they were right there with me!! They played with heart, soul and skill. The quality of steel players had me feeling very,very honoured to have been part of this. Should I mention the Guiness? Oooohhhh nice! The boys, Pat, Mike, Willie and co made me feel a real part of the Irish 'commonwealth corner' too. Paddy! You need to do this!!
I'll be back
