I bought this guitar from Lynn Stafford after he rebuilt it earlier this year. As you would expect from Lynn, it plays like butter, sounds amazing and looks fantastic. It is standard Emmons setup and standard height. Case is in excellent condition and comes with a D2F leg bag and cover. This is what Lynn had to say about it:

I’m now in the process of completely restoring this 1975 Emmons guitar S/N 2156D from top to bottom, it’s the real deal and will be correct as it can be, right down to the proper slotted wood screws holding the brackets to the cabinet. All of the bright aluminum is being professionally polished, necks have been re jeweled, etc. and the fret boards are Emmons Factory replacements. Original legs are standard height. The guitars from this era sound great and this one is no exception! It has that huge Emmons push-pull bell-like tone, wonderful sustain and it will play like a dream when I’m done setting it up.

Asking $4,600.00 plus shipping.

No dog in this hunt, just a comment on Lynn's work. I recently bought a P/P from Lynn and the setup is perfect, it plays absolutely great. If you want a P/P without any of the headaches and drama that can come with an out of adjustment guitar, this would be a very good option. Plus it's black..

This guitar used to belong to me. Very nice guitar, and that was before restoration!

This guitar is a work of art. So why does that Emmons shine so much more than my very clean and well taken care of P-P? Is it that Lynn Stafford just goes wild with the buffing wheel? Can such a shine be achieved by hand polishing with the right polish and elbow grease, without dismantling the guitar?

Thanks john and everyone for your kind words.

For a total restoration project, I typically send out all of the bright aluminum parts to be professionally polished. I've been using Metal Polishing by Timothy right here in the Portland, Oregon area for several years now.

For just hand buffing, I use "Purple Polish" by California Custom. It's by far the best product I've ever found! Looks like Don probably uses it too.
