I don't turn my Fender 2000 over any more than I can help. It weighs a ton. But I noticed the name RJTribbetts scratched into the frame. Does anyone know him? I would be interested to learn the history of the instrument before I bought it several years ago on eBay.

Not sure there's an "S" on the end of his name. Could be this guy?

Could be. That guy was born in 1895, so he would have been in his 70s at the time the guitar was manufactured. It would be a heavy instrument for him to carry around, which could account for its good condition. Or he could have had a son with the same name. Unfortunately, the US Census doesn't include the question, "Are you a steel guitarist?" Maybe it should. Winking
