I've had the iStroboSoft on my iPhone(5s) for a long time but never really used it much. I recently started playing with it again and downloaded the steel guitar presets. There is something strange going on and I'm not sure if its my phone or the software. I've used both the mic on my phone plus my Ampkit connector and had the same problem. When I tune the Es they are about 17 cents flat, way flat. I've verified this with another Peterson tuner and a Boss tuner. I'm using the Newman preset and the Es are flat on all Newman presets, SE9, U12. The other thing I've noticed is if there is a note in the preset that is used three different times but tuned differently, peterson didn't account for ths in the presets. Is anyone else using the app and seeing the same thing? |

I'm using the app on iPhone 3s with my GFI directly plugged in via Peterson's adaptor cable. I tune every day and my E's stay very well in tune. Maybe you should try the adaptor cable?

I worked with a person from Peterson on that app. I found it varied in accuracy, compared to my (at the time) Peterson StrobeOflip tuner and an ST122 strobe tuner. The person had me try different things in the app and I even sent him some sound files of the individual steel strings. That was the last I heard from them.
On the other hand, I also have Cleartune and its always accurate. |

John thanks for the reply. I did try thr adapter cable. On the Jeff Newman presets where the Es should be 9.8centssharp they are about 17 cents flat. The app is accurate because the Es are always 17 cents flat. |

Jack thanks for the reply. Peterson did say they would look into it, that was the last I've heard from them. So much for there great customer service. |
