Just got a couple of new L-710's and they came with three wires instead of two like the old ones, Black, White and Red. Anybody know what the Red wire is for and how to hook it up?

I'd get out an ohmmeter. It's possible that one is a tap. It's also possible that one is a ground, tied to one of the other two. There will be around 20K between two wires, and one will either be between the two of them or equal to one of them.
If one is equal, tie the two equal wires together and make it ground.
If one is in between, either tape it off and ignore it (not as desirable, IMO) or mount a hidden switch that ties it to ground when you close the switch and leaves it floating when open. That way you can have single coil mode if you like that sound and don't have a hum problem.
I couldn't find any info on three wire Bill Lawrence pickup with a red wire, but there are blue wires, which are an additional ground.

Thanks Lane, Yeah I know that the black wire is ground and the white wire reads out at a little over 20 and the red at 10. I think I'll ignore the red one for now. These are brand new pickups from Bill Lawrence, took three months to get them
