Russell I don't know of any around the three towns you mentioned, but there are lots of steel players south of you in Lafayette and Lake Charles.
You may have to drive a little to get a lesson.
Good luck in your search.

Hi Russell, I would be glad to help but I live about 20 miles east of Baton Rouge which is a couple hours away from you. I have a good friend, Charlie Moore who lives in Deville, LA. which is just north of Alexandria La. He is one of the best in my book. Good guy and very knowledgeable. I have wished that I could play like him for years. He is on the Forum, you may try sending him an e-mail or private message. If I were close to him, I would get some lessons from him as well. Hope this helps.

Upper right part of the screen, click on "member list". On the box titled "sort by" highlight "user name". Hit "sort" and it will list everybody alphabetically. AT that point you start clicking on pages and try to find him.

It would be so much easier if there were separate columns for first name and last name. Common names like John run many pages, and even the difference between Dave and David can add several minutes to your search. But with a little time and effort you should find him.

If I lived near Alexandria, I would be camped out at Charlie Moore"s door. He is one of the best in my book. Russell, if you can get with my buddy Charlie get him to show you all those hot licks. What licks I have, I got from Charlie over the years lol. If you ever get over toward Baton Rouge, be sure and look my friend Jim Lindsey up, one of the LEGENDS in the steel guitar world.
