2 that I know of are Justice (he will build you pretty much anything you want) and Williams. Forgot that BMI still makes single neck steels. I would just click on the links button at the top of the page, look at the manufacturers menu, and visit their websites. _________________ Carter D10 8p/8k, Dekley S10 3p/4k C6 setup,Regal RD40 Dobro, Recording King Professional Dobro, NV400, NV112,Ibanez Gio guitar, Epiphone SG Special (open D slide guitar) . Although... If you want one built new, then the only real differences from a standard E9 would be 1) String gauges, 2) Pull placements, and 3) the number of pedals. So, I can't imagine any current builder turning down the request.

It was pretty easy to change my Mullen RP SD10 from E9 to C6. Added a couple pedals to make it 5PX5K. I bet almost any good single-neck could be re-configured.
The knees, being dedicated to only C6, move more easily than on a D-10 with shared changes. Here's a link to a thread about it. http://bb.steelguitarforum.com/viewtopic.php?t=274589&highlight= _________________ Mullen PRP D10, accordions, Harmony Sovereign guitar. |

Russel, If you are an inexperienced player a single neck C6 is not a good idea. Go with a single E9, double neck E9/C6 or a universal. |

Like others have said changing over a standard E9 to a C6 should be very easy to do. If you leave the pedals where they are you can put the basic C6 changes on there and get going. If you are not experienced with setting up pedalsteels have a reputable repair guy do it for you.
You could buy a used steel from someplace like Steel Guitars of North County and have them handle the work for you. _________________ Bob |
