If that is Johnny, he's playing bass.

There's a reference to the band here, called the Rocking Rebels and a mention that Johnny Winter was in the band and played with artists including George Jones, The Big Bopper and Janis Joplin.

Apparently, Johnny mentions backing George Jones in his autobiography.
