The theme song for one of the shows was "Steel Guitar Rag" I think Joaquin Murphy played it, but I cannot find any records or CD on it.
I think the band he played with was Spade Cooley. So I think Spade Cooley got credit for it. Does anyone know the real truth. The 1950's

I do believe you are right---Spade Cooley's version of the song; with Joaquin.

But I don't think it was the commercially released version on the Columbia label.

Rather it was a Standard transcription version--one of those old 16 inch disks.

The Columbia version has a harp introduction, while the transcription version heard on WCKY has Joaquin right from the start and the entire song runs under 2 minutes.

Both versions are available on CD and almost certainly online. I'd imagine both can be heard on Spotify or Pandora as well.
