A month or two back I acquired a very nice 81 Emmons Push Pull from forum member Bill Moore, after changing the configuration and setting it up to "fit" me it has become my primary axe. Here's a track we just completed as part of a 6 song CD we offer at our bi-monthly Country Music shows.

Everything recorded direct to Pro Tools. I believe on this track I used the preamp out on the N112 to the DBX 376 channel strip. All EQ printed to the track.

Hey Dale, thanks...sadly no, the Carter has left the family, I decided to let a few things go to grab the Emmons and a few other pieces I wanted to acquire. So the Carter and my 52 Fender 6 string Lap got "released" from the roster ! Lately I had been bringing out the S10 Sho Bud Pro I to all gigs so it wasn't like I was parting with my "go to" axe even though I considered it a primary instrument. It went to a new home where it will be enjoyed.

I had also recently acquired and mostly restored a mid 70's Pro III, two hole puller axe...

Here is the Pro III, old time action but also killer tone...

Thank you gentlemen !

This was about as simple a recording process as us humans could ever execute down here on earth.

The drums, as asked by Carl, are stock BIAB
_FIDSOLG Slow Country real Tracks, BIAB 2013

My friend Johnny Parks added synth guitar "strings " as well as his guitar part.

The Steel was indeed recorded with the N112 XLR Preamp out to the DBX 376 preamp, all EQ's printed to the track. In Pro Tools I used two patches I wrote, one is a minimal normalization for the entire track and the 2nd is a compressor limiter to tame any wild volume pedal peaks that may occur ,or make that, did occur !

We hear and read all the time how difficult a program like Pro Tools is, but I am here to tell you, in my mind they are all equal when it comes to any learning curve. This was I believe a 4 or 5 track project, recorded one track at a time. Nothing special, minimal effects and processing. And yes, sound field panning to eliminate space conflicts.
