Has anyone tried one of these amps yet. The guitar players seem to be liking the tone and output so wondering if they are good for steel. Price is right for sure. |

Sounds like it would be good. And at 40lbs, the younger guys could still carry it... _________________ Amateur Radio Operator NA4IT (Extra)

I may, in fact, be nuts. However, I am screwed onto the right bolt... Jesus! |

I bought one about a year ago. I like it for my telecastor. It is simple to use and sounds good. I have used it with my Emmons SKH to practise around the house and it sounds OK but I have a Nashville 400 I bought new in 1992 and it just doesn't compete with it playing steel through. Not sure how good the Fender Champion 100 would do in a band with a steel. _________________ Emmons LeGrande SKH, Nashville 400, ME20, TC Electronics Flashback, Emmons bar, 1957 Gibson SJ 45,5 String Fender Jazz Bass, Telecastor, |

It seems like it has lots of power etc. and I thought with the 2 twelve inch speakers it might be ok for steel. I was looking to buy a second Nashville 112 as mine is getting old but apparently Peavey is not making them right now and that's the reason for my question. If the fender Champion 100 would do the job I would buy one. They are very reasonably priced and boast a hundred watts of power. To my knowledge , there isn't a moderate priced steel guitar amplifier being made right now. Anyhow, just wondering if someone might have some band experience with the Fender Champion 100. Thanks so much for your replies. NM |
