Steve, I can highly recommend an evening at the Bar J Chuckwagon. Donnie Cook is their steel player.....he is a multi-instrumentalist and will play guitar, banjo, dobro and mandolin in addition to steel. They play every night through the end of September (except Sundays after Labor Day). This is a very talented group with incredible harmonies. Their forte is old cowboy songs and humor. You won't be disappointed.
Check out their website at the link below:

As far as things to see and do, the list is almost endless. Here are a few.....Jackson town square and shops, the Nat'l Museum of Wildlife Art, Jenny Lake and Lodge, Jackson Lake and Lodge, Teton Village, Rockefeller Parkway, Mormon Row....

Appreciate the response. Hoping you're enjoying your Fulawka as much as I am loving mine.
Thanks again,

Chuck is right! My wife and I saw the Bar J Chuckwagon show a few years ago and it is fantastic! Don't miss it! |

Steve, I agree with Chuck's recommendations…for music you will also want to check out the music scene at Silver Dollar Bar and the Stagecoach (Sun only)…Ted Wells (no, not the NFL lawyer) occasionally sits in on steel with the Stagecoach band…of course the Million Dollar Cowboy Bar is a good dance venue while Mangy Moose (Teton Village) also has music but cannot always predict the genre. So best to check the papers and websites when you get to town. Dornan's at Moose (with beautiful view of Tetons) also has occasional music including the regular Hootenany which is all acoustic so no steel.
On sights to see, GTNP and Jenny Lake boat trip are worth a visit…certainly a Yellowstone day in the park…will also want to take the Tram to the top of Rendezvous Peak at Teton Village.
Maggie and I are here then so give a shout if you need more info…best, JV |

Steve, John's insight into the Jackson Hole scene is priceless. He lives there and is a musician himself. He and Maggie are wonderful people, so look them up if you have a chance. I must admit to a bit of prejudice as John is an old classmate and friend. Oh, and BTW, I love my Fulawka!
John, hope to see you two in Santa Barbara. What a surprise to see you post on the SGF! |
