Up until a couple of weeks ago I hadn’t heard of this song... Jim Lindsey suggested that I give this one a whirl... he pointed me to a video of Junior Knight and Gary Hogue playing it... those two just nailed this song and I admit to “steeling” a lick or two... we ALL steel from someone, and those two are as good as it gets to steal from...

Thanks for watching, hope you enjoy...

WOW! Dale I must say you did a super nice job playing that one.
I always liked that song, and guess I should learn to play it now.
I'll never play it as good as you, cause I'm too old to get that good.
Keep them great tunes coming, always enjoy listening to great players.

Gentlemen, thank-you for the nice comments...

Carl, you’re never too old until you’ve just flat lost the desire...
I think I’ve improved more in the last year than the previous 40,
and that’s mainly because I’m playing more... And somewhat how this steel has inspired me.
I’m mainly doing this to put together enough songs while I’m able, for my folks,
while their young enough to enjoy it, for church friends who’ve asked for the last 40 years and my kids, who may someday want it...
thanks for this song, I really enjoyed playing it.

Thanks Norbert, feels good to inspire a little... BTW, I like your good German name... I have a first cousin with that name, and always liked it.

Thanks Charlie... I feel like I’m getting a little closer to the tone I’m after, and guess I’ll know it (I hope) when I get there.

I was using both the Revelation and the Lex...
Here’s a quick rundown... well as quick as I can make it

I’m running the Lex into the Revelation as per the recommended hook-up
I’m using a Telonics Multi-Taper, so out of the second out I go into my Session 500 (Dry) and then from the XLR out go into the mixer...
So I’m actually recording 3 channels of steel... 1 Dry, 2 Wet... and starting to learn about plugins as well.
