Anyone know why Marty Stuart wears that large neck piece on stage?
What's he hiding? |

I would suggest it's become a "trademark" for him now. I recall old photos when he was quite young and playing in bluegrass groups as a hired musician he wore them as well.
The same could be said about me and my western/cowboy hats. Although I don't label myself as a definition of a "cowboy" I've worn hats for the better part of my life and have felts I bought new when I was 15/16 some 40+ years ago. Part of my leaning toward western may come from my upbringing as mom is from El Reno, OK and as a kid visited G'ma often with family or would take the train down. I'm seldom without a hat, not hiding anything....least that I know of. |

It's been rumored that someone tattooed a pig on his neck. |

Hi Ray, just for fun, I did a little research on your topic. I found hundreds of pictures of Marty and what it looks like is that he uses the tie or scarf when he is live on stage but not for most of his promotional pictures. If you google Marty, you will find a lot of pictures of him without it. |

I just thought it was because Manuel usually wears one, and it looks right on Manuel. I wear Manuel, but no wild rag. _________________ Chris Lucker

I have great respect for Marty Stuart ever since I heard him play mandolin with Gary Carter.

I'm the stage manager for a major music festival that has booked Marty and the boys a few times over the last 10 years.
Marty never fails to approach me with "Hello, I'm Marty Stuart. Thanks for working with us."
A class act!

Some people talk music. Others gossip about clothing. Same as it ever was. |
