Microsoft has announced they will add a middle finger emoji to their op system.....I heard this in the news so that's all I know about it. I have used a Mac since 2009 so I haven't kept up with the other side..... What do you think and would you use something like this. Facebook users have requested an "un-like" button for years to no avail.

No. On Facebook, you can always unfriend somebody, amounting to the same thing I guess.

So for Microsoft, I suppose it's all right now Question
Once you could get arrested. Now it's OK.

I'm sure you've noticed that there are lots of things today that are OK, when the same things were frowned upon before. IMO, things aren't headed in the right direction in society.

The middle finger is nothing more than a symbol of disrespect. Showing disrespect never accomplishes anything good in the end.

I agree. 14 year olds might like it, but it's nothing I would use. Seems like it would just lead to more of the same and ratchet up the anger. What's next? an FU emoticon? Oh Well

Classless. Just what we need...more rudeness in American society. Easy to trash talk when you're sitting in Mom and Dad's basement behind your keyboard.

Years ago, I heard the following story presented as the truth:

A judge dismissed a case of disorderly conduct, that involved the defendant giving the middle finger to a police officer...the judge reasoned aloud that the offensive gesture was protected as free speech and therefore not a violation of any law. Upon leaving the courtroom, the officer called out, "thank you, your Honor" while giving the judge the same gesture.

(I would never try it, but it was kinda funny)

A remember many years ago, and couple of smart alecks drove up beside my dad, and the passenger stuck out his right arm with his middle finger raised. My dad opened his door, and before the guy could pull his arm in, politely broke his finger and drove off... true story, I was there...

Until now I had no idea what an emoji was.

The fact that anyone is considering using a middle finger emoji tells me how far we have fallen in today's society.
No such thing as rudeness or profanity anymore. Wouldn't want to criticize someone using it.
You might hurt their feelings and damage them psychologically.

Then they'd sue and we'd have a long drawn out court battle with interviews on tv and write up's
in the National Enquirer and I would end up having to move.

So no, I won't be using it.

Can I vote twice, or do I just hold up my middle finger for my vote?
Soon, this cool gesture from the 50's done by guys in ducktails will be the signal to the waiter for one, straight up, and nerds will no longer be afraid to push their tape-repaired glass up their noses.

The future, looking great, and completely without a history.

This little old grandma and her grandson took a trip to California. She had a bumper sticker that said: "Honk If You Love Jesus".
When she would stop for a traffic light, she wouldn't always start out when the light turned green. Needless to say, she was getting a lot of horn honking.
She commented to her grandson: "I never knew so many people in California loved Jesus". After a while, some motorists, in addition to honking, gave her the middle finger.
She asked her grandson: "What is it they are doing?" Her grandson said: "I guess that's the way they wave in California".
After that, whenever anybody would honk, she gave them the finger! Laughing

Not quite the same. You can disagree with someone and want to flip them off, but still be friends. It's happened to me several times.

The middle finger is a bow and arrow thing.
When the opposition captured an archer they would cut off his middle finger so he could never again pull back a bow string properly.
So in battle the remaining archers would hold up their middle finger as if to say "see I still have me middle finger"
Why do I feel like right now I'm getting the same reaction? Laughing
