Opinions...8 string pickup specs

I apologize if this has been discussed in earlier threads (point me in the right direction)
Any experienced techs and or musicians give your expertise on how these would sound or work for pedal steel and lap steel? What are you using? Any info would be appreciated.

My friend Keith uses a DiMarzio 8 string PAF for his C6 neck on a Fender 1000. It sounds real good.

You can also find 8 string pickups for steel guitar from Jason Lollar, Jerry Wallace, Jerry Sentell, Seymour Duncan, and a few others whose names escape me. I recently had Jerry Sentell build one to my specs. It was affordable and I was very pleased!
