Are there any Clubs or Honky Tonks in the Music Row area that feature our kind of Steelers? Thinking of early October, how might the weather be? _________________ I wanna go back to my little grass shack........ |

Other than Chris Scruggs, who plays non-pedal steel by himself and with Billy Robinson, I don't know of anyone playing non-pedal steel regularly.
The weather might be just like this. _________________ Brad’s Page of Steel

I have been lucky enough to visit Nashville in October for the last two years. Weather on both occasions was pleasantly warm.
Never saw a non-pedal steel player but it didn't annoy me. I saw some fantastic musicians no matter what instrument they were playing. I like old country, early rockabilly and western swing. I become almost a nightly guest at 'Roberts Western World' in downtown Nashville on my first visit and last year, where I was working at the Opry Conference Center, I discovered the other 'Roberts', the Nashville Palace and there I really became a nightly guess.
I highly recommend gigs from John England or Carolyn Martin.

Visited Nashville this past June, and I was disappointed. The only steel I saw was the show at the Opry. Loads of players downtown on the street and in the bars, all regular guitar. |
