| This instrument is a round-neck, fretted resonator guitar, and so it is not a steel guitar. Kindly consider moving this post to the "For Sale: Other Instruments" section, that is where the standard guitars are meant to be listed. Best regards and good luck selling that pretty guitar! |

| Nice guitar,good price & they sound GREAT!!The guys @ Republic are really nice folks. I had a Republic Highway 61 when I was doing a blues duo with a lady down here ! & have played a couple other Republics.all sounded wonderful. |

No, but it could be. I think it's in the right place; if I had the dough, I'd buy it for a friend who's looking at Dobros, and the price is right.
Good luck, Alan, hope it sells before I covet it too much--really; it's set up just how I'd like it, Humbucker, hidden controls and all.
It's not something one would just put a riser nut on, but get a good bone nut cut for it. I mean, this is a steel guitar.

Alan, you Republic guitar is indeed a steel guitar for the purposes of this Forum. It is correctly listed. If one does a search for National Guitar, for example, he will see there are many of these which over the years have been listed in this STEEL GUITARS section.
In fact, I found a round neck Republic resonator similar to yours there also. There are other brands of round-neck resonators there also.

Thanks for all the supportive words about the Republic resonator. They are great resonators, for sure. By the way, upon occasion I will lay this one in my lap and use a bar to play it, other times, a bottleneck finger slide.

| If you guys keep talking how great these guitars are, I'm going to keep this one. I'm only selling it and another guitar to pay for an expensive (to me) guitar I just bought. For the bucks, you just can't get a better reso than a Republic. |

| I had a Republic tricone roundneck and a "resolian"--a parlor-sized roundneck with a single cone. They were a lot of bang for the buck. And Frank, the owner of Republic is a great guy. But let's get real--they don't sound like a National. There are some limits to what you can get "on the cheap." |
