I want to install an L pad on an extension speaker and I am not sure how to connect the three posts on the pot to the input jack and the speaker. Could one of you folks explain how to do this, I would greatly appreciate it.

Thank you,

Marty

If you google 'l-pad wiring' you'll find the image you need.

Basically, put the amp into 1 & 3, and take the speaker off of 1 & 2. Choose the rotation direction you want... most folks choose clockwise = louder, so you'd make it so terminal 3 is closest to the end where the wiper ends up. Terminal 2 is the center one, obviously.

Stop.

What kind of amp? Tube or SS?

No offense meant, but if you don't really understand what you are doing you could seriously "hurt" the amp, or attenuator, or both.
