I believe the Matchbox 60 was one of the earlier models. I would estimate it to be worth approx. $50 |

Hi Chuck, from the Peavey website I used the section paraphrased below to date my Peavey. Looks like yours would be 1980.
"If the number has a two digit prefix, it may give a clue as to the date for some products.
For example, a two digit prefix such as 6A followed by five or six numerals would indicate a 70's product ("A" is for amp, "E" is for enclosure), and the prefix indicates the year. If the prefix is followed by 8 numerals, you have a 80's product and again, the prefix indicates the year.
So:
5A-12345 would indicate 1975
7A-123456 would indicate 1977
6A-12345678 would indicate 1986
After 1989, this system is no longer used, 00-12345678 means 1990 or later." _________________ Derby SD10, Peavey Session 400 |

Nashville 400 would be 1990. In 1980, they were still making the Session 400, and about to introduce the Hernia 500 _________________ 2 pedal steels, a lapStrat, and an 8-string Dobro (and 3 ukes)

This gentleman from Peavey says it was released in early 80's - 2nd page, 2nd paragraph of pdf....
"In the early 1980’s, we introduced a new line of amplifiers called the City Series.
In this series, we offered two steel amps, i.e.; the Vegas 400 and Nashville
400. Both of these models were rated to produce 210 watts at 4 ohms. The
Vegas 400 featured two independent channels that allowed for the use of a
steel guitar in one channel and a fiddle or guitar in the second channel.
The Nashville 400 has been our most popular model to date and was in
production for eighteen years. _________________ Derby SD10, Peavey Session 400 |

But I'll bet you $3.00 that "early 80s" doesn't extend to 1980 itself. They didn't stop the Session 400 til 82.
I can't see them having FOUR steel amps on the market at the same time (LTD, Session 400, Session 500 and the Nashville 400). That's just silly. _________________ 2 pedal steels, a lapStrat, and an 8-string Dobro (and 3 ukes)
