For sale is my near new Octal V8 that I
purchased to run with my Steel King and then
realised that it's a preamp! and It would have made
more sense to get a Black Box to add a tube
sound to my set up. I guess you could say that
I jumped the gun without really knowing
what I was buying. So my near new Octal with
XLR output I would like to get $500.00 US for
It and I will SHIP WORLD WIDE FREE

Paul, are you interested in trading it for a Sarno Black Box and cash or perhaps something else?

Hi Jerry, I would be keen on a black box with
The z knob but I would have to have one
Suited to our 240 volt power. |

Yeah, I didn't think of that. Maybe Brad will jump in here and tell us if the Black Box will work with the right plug or if it would burn it up.

My V8 gets used all the time at our studios...not only is it the best DI for steel I have ever used, but it goes in front of an Avalon DI for bass sessions and also for guitars...awesome box!!!! _________________ John Macy

Was working perfectly when it left me with the switch
on 240v for our power . Switching the switch to
110v for your power and it not working?? That concerns me,
but something that I cannot help you with. I do not sell equipment that does not work ,it's just not me. |

Mark..You might try removing the cover to check the tubes (first shake unit GENTLY to see if you detect a rattle). Mine arrived not working either (it was packed very well BTW) and it turned out to be that a tube had been shaken loose during transport. |

Since this V8 is a 240 volt version, you will need to check with Brad on how to convert it to 115v ... I think there is a little switch there, but you may also have to change the fuse to a different value !
Once again check wtih Brad Sarno first !!
Incidentally I sold this unit to Paul and it has worked just fine for both of us. _________________ 14'Zumsteel Hybrid D10 9+9

I suspect the shipping apes had too much fun tossing this one around. The tubes were out of the sockets and laying on the bottom? This is a very small area in which the tubes reside to have just fallen out, maybe customs guys?
But the biggest thing is the fact that the round XLR transformer was bent over touching the PCB on one side.
Paul had emailed to make sure I change it to 115v so I did that as soon as I removed the unit from the packaging.
Emailed Brad Sarno and he authorized me to send in for repairs.
I'm not blaming Paul for this, I suspect it was either customs check or really hard fall.
