I heard on FB that Buddy Emmons has passed. Can anyone verify this. This would be tragic news for everyone in the SteelGuitar world. _________________ Custom Rittenberry SD10

There's a posting on Facebook that Sid Hudson found him at his home.
Very sad if true. |

No! Not my hero. My father-in-law on Monday and now Buddy. Rest in Peace, Buddy. You were a great inspiration to a lot of people including this little ol' country boy. I am eternally grateful for all the hours I have spent listening to you play, and will never forget the times I seen you at the Scotty's convention. Again, Rest in Peace, and your music will play on forever. Prayers to your family and friends.

I had my old 71 Emmons out to play last weekend and I think I'll just play it the rest of the summer in honor of the man. It's a heavy beast but it sure has tone to the bone like none other I've played. We just lost the greatest player ever known to the instrument. |
