Three different styles of playing represented today in my studio--Roosevelt Collier with his Sacred style of playing, Andy Hall, one of the new young masters of the dobro, and old honky tonking me. Roosevelt and Andy are working on a new duet record of mainly lap steel and dobro and it's awesome! They did an amazing soulful version of Maiden's Prayer that put chills up my spine...

I don't know Andy's playing. I feel I am missing something special.
But I do know and enjoy Rooseveldt's playing. Looking forward to the outcome of this project.

A while ago I posted a link to Roosevelt Collier and Andy Hall playing Reuben's Train:

Andy Hall is the reso player with The Infamous Stringdusters. Roosevelt Collier plays with The Lee Boys. This combination should be extremely exciting!

Hope this doesn't kill the post , but if they play like I think they have, then it will be worth the wait. The "Doctor" is also on the tribute to Buddy .

Is this the same Roosevelt Collier who was a US Navy officer in Oklahoma City in 1978?

Yep, Jerry, this will be a good one. When I was setting the start time with Andy, I asked what time the rhythm section needed to load in, he said it was just going to be him and Rosy...and what a cool thing to have these two amazing players sitting across from each other, playing and reacting to each other. Can't wait for the next sessions in September to finish this!
