Well Hello! my Forum Friends and Family.
Well here we go again, only this time I think I`ve got one that might catch your attention. This is a song out of the Sacred Strings/Sacred Steel library. It is usually played by most of the Sacred Steel players at some time or another. Just as of late the internationally famous Campbell Brothers, usually present it in their tour presentation program. I trust that you will enjoy my presentation of this rocking, handclapping, foot stomping, happy praise dancing, presentation. By the way, Yes it is yours truly playing all the instruments, six different ones in the back up track Enjoy! Oh yes, the second half will clearify those abilities, with all of its blurbs Ha-ha please enjoy!

Hi Bishop.
This one is going to jump, I know it. I like the way you do things with the one man band.
I'm going to play name the instruments for myself this time.
I'm checking out my new old speakers to see if they honk as good as you.
They don't! Not enough for you. Switch systems....
I can't identify them all and that's the way I like it, the blend is in.
I love the way you kick it off from go. You did the drum tracks just right, it shuffles like a train.
I'm a bass man and you get the fEnder seal of approbation!
I don't like to praise the talented but I don't mind praising the wicked, and this is it.
Cookin' with butane. You know I'm your fan when you the man.
Bless you Bish,
Charlie |

Ron, your joyful message in this song is unique and personal, as only you can create. Your steel playing is smooth and soulful and the tracks are excellently done. Thank you for sharing this superb recording. |

Hey brother Ron, all I can say is, it's another exceptional
piece from a master of Sacred Steel playing. I can always
enjoy what you play & you know I just play old country. _________________ aka "Lucky Kay"--Custom built Rittenberry SD10 3X5, Walker S/S, NV-112, and Hilton Pedal |

HeyCarl!(Dr. Smooth, Lucky,)(Kilmer)
I`m always glad to hear from you my friend, as well, as all the other friends here on our forum. "Just play old country???" Naaw, my ole friend. You play far beyond that. You are a "Musician" of all kinds of genre of music. "Old country" is just your major in God`s world of music. Keep up the good work my old friend, and the best to your loved ones, and thanks again.

Bishop, I am so glad you turned me on to that thread, I've never seen such a bunch of beautiful places in one spot ever,
especially the Bovine Pasture.
Yours was way out of what my imagination had it, more consoles than I thought possible. Thanks much for the virtual tour,
and looking forward to your next one, and I can see that there always will be.

Hey Charlie!(McDonald)
I`m glad you got a kick out of that thread. It just goes to show how dedicated the folks on this forum are about recording. When I first saw brother Bovine`s submission, It took me quite a while to regain my composure! Oh yeah, I gathered quite a collection of recording stuff. My buddy and friend Dave Hartley remarked how we all love our buttons. I responded, as soon as I figure what they all do, then I going to make more mistakes than I do now. Anyway here is another post by my fellow Michigander, Papa Joe Pollock. Enjoy!

When a friend and I set up a little studio in his house a long time ago, we had a little party to open it up and some gal comes into our
'control room' and says 'So is that all you do is mess with those little knobs?' Boy do you have a lot of knobs to mess with!
It gives you time for a lot of quiet contemplation, doesn't it? Can't fool me; I know what you do. Sounds foolish, but having a prayerful mind
takes, sometimes, a lot of little knobs to mess with. Of course, that's not the word she used.
I'd paste this photo, but the thread's so old. Here was my studio at the time.
You can't see it, but in the East Wing is my keyboard and in the West Wing was my pedal steel (be it Red Baron or lacquer MSA SD12).
Well, you and I are on the same route. (I'd say, aren't we all? But we have to choose, how we get there maybe.)
It seems the more mistakes I make, the more I learn. I play a wrong note, and one wrong note follows another, and pretty soon
there's a new riff or a new song going. I guess you could say, and it's true for now, and tomorrow, the studio is all in my head.
I don't judge a man by his studio but by his music. Yours looks so clean, but the music you produce boogies, it reaches out.
Any pasture where Earnest Bovine is is going to produce music; he likes to make fun with us about that, and I like it.
I suppose you could say he's got his own ministry going. Going where, we don't know, but I think he's going where we are too.
It takes me a while to know a man before I can 'speak' like this. The studio is in your head; you hear a sound and it's what you do.
That's all I have to say for now; I'm working on fewer words, I've spread so many around, and if they were mistakes,
think how much I've learned? How can I not know a man and be inspired by him? I don't know, it's one of life's mysteries,
but I'm inspired by you. Mystery, ministry, the words are so similar. Maybe a good word to use would be 'ministery.'
It's not your conditions, it's your heart; I can see the prayerful attitude as you put the steel part on and let us watch you do it.
I had no idea you had that many consoles; you can't tell by listening, can't tell by the music.
Trying to keep a humble heart and a prayerful mind in the middle of all this messy pasture isn't easy, and we do the best that we can do.
So we'll keep on keeping on. It's a new day, time for me to find another mistake to make. |

Hi Charlie! My dear friend and brother,
I am certainly honored that you have shared a slice of your life with me, and I feel as I`ve said before a spiritual connection, (Not about religion) but a genuine brotherhood in my having come to know you this far. There are many, many, others that I have come to know , like Alan Brookes, Dave Hartley, Carl(Lucky)Kilmer, just to name a few, and of course Del Ray, and Kellie Grace of the Sacred String/Sacred Steel congregation, and many more. I have to agree, we are on the same route in many, many ways. Some fun huh!(big grin) Remember now, I had to clean up and organize before I shot those photos, (my boss, wouldn't let me do it otherwise. After all of 52years, and seven blessings later , she dropped the hammer on me, and insisted that I organize that room that I call a "Studio" or else!)( I didn't know what "else" meant, and I didn't want to find out sooo, well, the rest is history.)Any way, again, your words of kindness, and knowledge, and I believe I understand the intent in all that you have written, and truly my brother and friend they do mean a lot to this old man. My whole intent in these golden years of sunset, is to hopefully bring a smile, of joy and happiness to whoever may happen to bump into one of my attempts at levity. I guess maybe because of that, you looked in on one of these and took a chance of friendship with me. I thank God for that.
I know that there is a lot that probably we need to share, but for now, my boss at this earthen level is ringing the dinner bell, which can be interpreted, "If you don't come and get it!" Well, the rest is self explanatory Be blessed my friend, and as always, thanks for sharing with this old man, because it means a lot to me.
Among your friends
Ron
