Just watched Alan Jackson on The Tonight Show perform Angels and Alcohol. If I'm not mistaken, Robbie Flint was playing a beautiful old Deckley D10. Very nice mellow number, sung and played beautifully. I liked the steel playing, it fit the feeling of the band and the song perfectly.

They covered him up pretty good with a sawing fiddler..

They almost covered the logo with their interminable graphics..

These Tonight Show links from the show's website aren't typically kept up permanently for your viewing pleasure, but for now you can catch the performance here:

It's always good when you can hear the steel...Robbie gave this song a lot of soul! Hat's off to Alan and the entire band...

those Derby's are great guitars, they are pretty affordable too... btw. thats the band to be in, I heard several times from the guys around Nashville, that Alan is a great guy to work for, if I could get in a band like that, i would have stayed on the road for the rest of my life lol ...

Wow - It seemed like Alan was just barely holding it together. This is what truth looks like.

The rhythm seems to be dragging here. Is it the drummer or the recording? I have no clue.

I don't get it either, Tim. Maybe you could explain… Confused
Joachim, the Jimmy Fallon show is a separate issue. I assume Tim's aside was referring to the Today show..

What I was saying is that he looked like he might cry at any moment - that he was really wrapped up emotionally in the song.
