Who do you use? Was it easy and free? Did they ask you for your password before you signed up?
I'd like suggestions, as I'd like to post a tune or two.
I promise they'll be better than in the past. |

Soundcloud is one. It's free, but you have to set up an account. Just about any service on the internet requires you to create an account, whether it is free or not.
I usually use Windows Movie Maker (free - comes with Windows) and make a "movie" I can upload to youtube. Just use an image file. Add your music file and tell it to match the video to the audio. You then save the file project. Then you can save it for a computer in "save as". This will give you a .wmv movie file that you can upload to youtube. A little more work than soundcloud, but you have a bigger audience as far as I know. A person doesn't have to have. A youtube account to view a movie, but you need one to upload movies. _________________ Carter D10 8p/8k, Dekley S10 3p/4k C6 setup,Regal RD40 Dobro, Recording King Professional Dobro, NV400, NV112,Ibanez Gio guitar, Epiphone SG Special (open D slide guitar) . I have used picosong.com in the past. You do not need an account. You upload a song in .mp3 format and picosong gives you a short url to it. NB: The url is case-sensitive. Be sure to write down and save that as well as the link to edit or delete the song file or picosong page that will be provided. For myself, I keep the info in a short text file.
Here is a sample: http://picosong.com/Yst/
On another note, when you create an account on a website which then asks you for a password, that should be a new password just for that website. They are not asking for your email password. Many websites offering free service will ask for your email address. This provides a unique user name for you at that site and gives them a way to get in touch with you. Of course, it could also be used for unwanted advertising, but this doesn't happen with legit websites. If you use multiple email accounts, be sure to keep track of which address you used where.

These are good suggestions. I tried fx.io that b0b discovered, but one day it just wasn't there.
And that clears up my confusion about what should be obvious about passwords, but once you mess up a field, you're outtathere.
I'll see if Movie Maker comes with Win 8.1. That's actually pretty cool Richard even if I'm not ready for the small screen.
Soundcloud and Pico (I like the former name) will give me what I'l looking for.
As far as e-dresses, I only just grasped how PayPal can send money thru the email. (They don't doh!) It's only a name.
Thanks both. Boy is this forum the cats pyjamas. |

I forgot about picosong.
I have an email that I use for websites like these that isn't my primary email account. I also have a password that I use only for sites like this. That way I can remember what PW goes to which site. I also have a certain username for sites that demand one. I never use these for any sites that deal with personal or banking information. _________________ Carter D10 8p/8k, Dekley S10 3p/4k C6 setup,Regal RD40 Dobro, Recording King Professional Dobro, NV400, NV112,Ibanez Gio guitar, Epiphone SG Special (open D slide guitar) .
