Just heard I'm assuming the original of this song,

I have heard live versions and others, but was curious as to who played the steel and dobro on the song.

Is real good and the best recording, again assuming it's the original.

The original version has Weldon Myrick playing the steel. Not sure about the dobro, though...

Thanks Greg and Steve!

Thanks, Craig

I think the original issue was on RCA 4568, an LP called "Yesterday's Wine", from 1971.

It was later reissued on vinyl at least once and likely multiple times on CD.

When I heard Willie's song "Me and Paul", before I knew Weldon played on the record, I thought it was Ralph Mooney because I thought I heard a little bit of Mooney in Weldon's playing on that song. Weldon was a great steel player!

I believe the way it goes about this song and was written by Willie Nelson:
According to Willie; He and Paul was going through an airport and someway they got into to some trouble with the Police or the law of some sort.
It's been a long time since I have heard about that, but Willie wrote the song called, "ME AND PAUL".
if you can find the album or cd, you will understand the way it goes!............
