In tuning the knee levers (Raise) on a push pull, is it same as the peddles? Tune them at the head engaged and then after letting off tune at the changer?
Thank you;

Tom, If a string has more than one raise, the highest pitch on a string is tuned first, on the 4th string, tune the C pedal, E to F#, at the keyhead. The lever which raises the string, E to F, is tuned under the guitar. Look for the tuning screw, the rod passes through the screw, at the F lever bellcrank. Adjust it in or out, to get the F note in tune. Operating the pedals and levers with the guitar upside down, will show you how it works. Once the adjustments are set and tight, they will usually stay in tune. The strings which are raised only once by a lever are tuned at the keyhead, the open notes tuned with the lower allen screws at the changer end of the guitar. Good luck.

On an Emmons' P/P, the following will work whether it be pedal or knee lever:
1. Tune the raises at the key head.
2. Tune the non engaged raise with the "raise" allen screw at the end plate.
3. Tune the lowers with the "lower" allen screw at the end plate.
IMPORTANT: IF the raise is NOT the maximum raise, (IE, 4th string F lever raise), disregard step 1 above and; tune the raise by reaching under the guitar and adjust the half-tone tuner for that raise.
