After 35 years or so my Music Man HD 130 still sounds great but seems to be loosing power. I had the power supply caps and tubes replaced a few years ago and thought maybe it had lost some of its power then, but since it seems to be getting worse. Does this make sense to anyone. There are really no other symptoms. Being a hybrid tube and solid state amp I was wondering if the might be some aspect of the design that could account for this condition. For the record the amp does have a 12ax7 phase inverter and 4) 6CA7 power tubes.

Thanks,

Gary

You should take it to a tube amp tech... probably either needs a re-bias or new output tubes. When replacing outputs, go ahead and replace the PI too. Most of the maintenance of a tube amp is in the power supply and final tubes... your MM has all that, same as an all-tube amp. 6CA7 == EL34, btw.
