I've been a 6 string strat player for almost 30 years. This last summer I bought an old Harlin Bros. 6 string 4 pedal, and am now very addicted to this wonderful instrument. I quickly outgrew the Harlin and bought a 1960's Fender 2000 in very nice shape..cheap. I realize after researching and reading this forum that this guitar is technologically dated and out of step, but it plays nice and there are some cool features. Like the ability to change tunings quickly. The E9 neck has 3 pedals dedicated, and the C6 uses 5. The guitar has 2 knee levers (added post factory), RKR with 2 string changer hooks and LKL with one string changer. The operate fairly well. The E9 has A,B, and C pedals set up Emmons style, but can anyone out there advise me how to get the most out of those 2 knee levers? I don't want to sacrifice any pedals used on the C6, I love the sounds I'm getting out of that neck. Except for the knee levers, my C6 is set up Emmons style also. I was thinking of adding some hooks on to the ends of the knee cables and pulling up to 3 strings each and just experimenting.

If you are going to stay with only 2 knee levers, and assuming they are on the right knee, I would do the following:

1. Lower the E's to Eb on E9th and lower the top C to B on C6,

2. Raise the E's to F on E9th and raise the top A to Bb on C6.

If your knee levers are on the left knee (used only for E9th) disregard the C6 changes.

May Jesus bless you in your quests,

carl

Thanks Carl. That sounds like the most logical use for my limitations. On my E9 neck I'll raise my E's to F's. That will give me my minor/dim 5th chord with my left lever. Then lowering the E's to Eb on my right lever gives me my Major 5th chord. I'll have to add hooks/loops on the ends of the cables to get the C6 lever pulls. My problem is mostly that I have only one lever for the right knee, and only one for the left knee. Right now they each are capable of changing 2 strings. I can always add on with a little tinkering.
