When talking about the two "standard" pedals, i think the height of the pedal, and maybe the taper are the differences. I chose the low profile version because I play in boots and it gets the knee away from the bottom of the guitar. That is the only reason. I also have a standard height Goodrich LDR2 electronic pedal as a backup, and if I want to play in tennis shoes. You can't go wrong with either pedal. If your leg touches the bottom of the guitar, the low profile might be best. If not, the standard height one might be the answer.

Got mine from Fred also. the standard height works fine for me, and I'm 6' tall. I also recommend the bracket to hold to the pedal bar.

I have both the low model and the standard height Hilton pedal. After years of playing a Goodrich L120, I never did get used to the Hilton low boy model. I ended up putting larger rubber feet under the back to get it closer to the standard height pedals. I bought a standard height Hilton and like it, however I am 6" tall and don't have a problem with my knees hitting the undercarrage.
