Here is a small C6 workout to get familiar with minor and major 6th intervals.

Positions for playing over the E7 chord in a 12 bar blues.
Always skip two strings, meaning .....
PLAY strings 5 & 2 or 6 & 3 or 7 & 4
Absolutely no pedals, only bar and 1 fret slant here and there.

Also:
Any place you find two straight or slanted positions next to each other
they can be connected w halftone movement. (Important)

On strings 5&2 you can also connect the two "straight" bars on fret 4 & 7 w halftone movement playing fret 4 5 6 & 7 as a straight bar.

You have to find out for yourself where this will occour on string pairs 6&3 and 7&4.

For the A7 chord all positions will move 5 frets up.
For the B7 chord all postiinos will move 7 frets up.

I have shown positions for the V(B7) I(E7) and IV(A7) chord.
Compare positions to see similarities/differences.
Note that lot of the positions are the same (did not change) even though the chord has changed.

You'll have to work out how this will look on strings 6&3 and 7&4 for yourself.

Have fun.

You always have an interesting slant on things, Bengt (pun intended). I like the way you think. You're weird.

Thanks. It is good to be weird.

Reason for not using pedals/levers.
1 it is more fun playin it this way.
2 It is easy to see that there is only 3 min6th intervals for each pair of strings.
3 The min6th intervals are laid out in a I - - - IV - V positioning along the frets.
4 The min6th at the "V" position will be the starting point for playing over a given chord since it is a harmonized mixolydian scale that will fit a Dom7th chord.
