Glad to hear you enjoyed the show Storm - $770 for the pair - 9th row - I assume that was the original ticket price and not from an aftermarket ticket scumbag...I mean broker.
For me, the only way I'd pay that much for a concert is if Lennon and Harrison "arose from the dead" for a Beatles reunion.
But we all have a comfort zone in our entertainment budget. _________________ Mark |

I'm thinking it would be worth it, especially with Bernie L stopping in. If I had the extra cash, and could convince myself to not be so darn practicle, I'd be there, front, and center. I never get tired of the Eagles music, no matter how many "final" tours they have.
Steel content: Did they have one this time, and who was playing? |

wow. consider me officially 'priced out' of the music. luckily i've seen many great shows from the perspective of the opening act band. i'd never pay more than ten bucks to see anyone these days.
wow!
and i love the eagles. they may be entitled jerks, but they are the tightest act. |

I remember ordering records fom "Godzilla" in Glendale, California in the seventies. I got three records in one parcel: "Windmills" by Rick Roberts, "Minnows" by Marc Benno and "Desperado" by the Eagles. "Windmills" featured a few Eagles' musicians. _________________ Fender Kingman, Sierra Crown D-10, Evans Amplifier, Soup Cube. |

Saw the Eagles here a few years ago. One of the best concerts Ive ever seen.
The day before, a friend introduced me to Mike Thompson (piano) and a few horn players and crew that were hanging out on the Riverwalk downtown.
We bought 4th row tickets right at the gate before the show for $200. Thats the most Ive ever spent on a ticket, but we sat right in front of Joe Walsh, so I felt it was validated! Was kinda funny they all wore black suits like it was a funeral or something. |

Got the tickets directly thru Ticketmaster,WE were also nearly directly in front of Joe also, albeit 9 rows away but he burnt the friggin place down.No unfortunately Felder is still pissed. Stuart and Joe made one forget about Don F anyhoo.Crazy expensive for sure but gettin to take my son and his fiance with my best bud over here AND The Eagles, like Tony said "I woulda paid more"....I'm quite sure the memories will be worth more than any toy I would surely have blown it on far as I'm concerned. They dressed pretty informal this time.....it was and they were still awesome. |

I saw 'em in 1975, in Huntsville, Alabama, with Poco opening. Great concert, Felder played "One of the Nights" perfectly.
Poco ended their set with "Good Feeling to Know," and dedicated it to "Eagles." (They weren't "THE Eagles" yet LOL) Lyin' eyes was released as a single the next day.
Tickets were outrageous, for the time---12 bucks, maybe? The boys wanted to PLAY! First encore was the only time you saw Henley--"Best of My Love, with everybody playing acoustics. Second encore was "Oh Carol," They could've played 3 blind mice, if they'd wanted to. |

our tickets came thru STUB HUB... The Eagles US tour is an AMEX thing, all tickets are sold to AMEX card members for a week before the general public...each AMEX member was allowed to buy up to 7 tickets..and they did !
I paid 2x the price, I don't care...
I think I paid $10 to see Hendrix in 68 or 69 too !
I have played in bands that opened for all sorts of major touring groups..but we never opened for Clapton , The Who, James Taylor or the Eagles ! We did open for the Doors though...how about that ! _________________ Emmons L-II , Fender Telecasters, B-Benders , Eastman Mandolin ,

I was fortunate to have seen The Eagles in Amsterdam in 1973 and Rotterdam in 1977. The tickets were much, much cheaper then even if you factor in what they would cost today with inflation. They were couple of the best concerts I've ever heard.
Not everyone is an Eagles fan, however. Two of the bands I've been with here had members who did not want to play any of Eagles covers. They felt the music was "too commercial", whatever that means. Oh well. |

Saw 'em in '74 when they looked like this. $770 back then would have been closer to a "private concert" price..

The two times I saw them were in the '70s, and the first time was as in the photo Barry posted.
Not nearly as polarizing a band as The Grateful Dead, but there are no shortage of Eagles haters, and some are even members here. I recall in their early years where their music qualified more as country rock, a friend of one my older brothers was just lambasting us for buying the albums and "admitting" we liked the group. This guy characterized them as being a bubblegum version of country rock.
When Joe Walsh joined the band, it always struck me as somewhat of an odd fit. I had seen him play in San Francisco at Winterland as the front man for both The James Gang and later Barnstorm. I was working out on guitar the other day the first song from his "So What" album, Welcome to the Club and IMO he has never done anything that touched this with the Eagles. I remember seeing him at Winterland when Nixon was on the verge of being taken down for Watergate and he changed the lyric on Rocky Mountain Way from "Casey" to "the bases are loaded and Nixon's at bat, time to change the batter" and the crowd went nuts. I know he performs some of his own classics with the modern Eagles, but I still kind of think of him as being "the new guy" - a little like how some still view Ronnie Wood in the Stones.
Man - I'm getting old. _________________ Mark |

Has anybody heard "The Ballad Of Don Henley" by T- Bone Burnett? I know that he recorded it, but you can't hear it anywhere. _________________ Fender Kingman, Sierra Crown D-10, Evans Amplifier, Soup Cube. |

at first i wasn't totally sold on them with no regular steel player. now i think they're one of the best bands in existance. classic tunes.
tim schmidt always impresses me.
a friend of mine was an added piece on several of their tours and he told me stories that can't be repeated here. |

I think I heard something on the radio years ago about the Eagles agreeing to allow no alcohol on the Hell Freezes Over tour, and the DJ commented "maybe they broke up because they were all mean drunks." ("Oh, s___, that's cold."--Axel Foley, Beverly Hills Cop)
"For the record, we never broke up; we just took a fourteen-year vacation."--Glenn Frey, 04/1994
