This is a beautiful looking & sounding ZB, but I have to raise $$$ for a different need.
Asking $2000 + shipping. I can take PayPal(buyer pays fee) or a check/cash/gold/silver/etc.

I bought it about 3 years ago and haven't done anything to it except play it a lot & a bit of lube.
All original except an adjustable RKR that was added by someone.(See pic) It has the 3 tap ZB pickup.
Usual dings & finish crazing for a 40 yr old instrument.

Standard Emmons, 8 pedals 4 knees. E's on left.
E neck has smooth pedals & knees. Some pedals on the C neck could use adjustment.

Comes with nice, wheeled(!) split cases. It will be expensive to ship - I really prefer NOT to ship & would be willing to visit SF Bay Area to hand it over.

Email me through the forum.
Thanks for looking, don't drool on your keyboard. Laughing

You're right. With only $80 in the bank, I'd have to sell my Carter first.

Someone is not only going to get a beautiful guitar, these are one of the best sounding guitars ever made. I foolishly sold both the ZB's I had.

ZB's don't seem to sell very well lately. So I'll lower the price to $2000.
They have gotten a reputation for being hard to work on, and certainly changing the copedent can be time consuming if you're making big changes. But this one is setup pretty standard.
And of course, sounds really nice!

I played a ZB on the road for many years. I did not find it any more difficult to work on than any other steel. In fact back when Jim Murphy was playing for Hank Thompson he had a new ZB some pedals had too much travel to suit him. Jim got a flash lite from behind the bar and while stepping on them I got under his ZB and took out the slack.

I saw Jim many years later at Billy Bobs in Ft Worth. He jumped off the stage and got me in a bear hug. What a guy. Seems as if I had made a friend for life. Sure was sorry later to hear of his passing.

I worked on many steels while on and off the road and never charged a dime. I had never forgot the help I had received learning from some of the top steel players. I was shown things that would have taken me years to learn on my own if ever. Tracy
When I quit fiddle and took up steel I taught fiddle for awhile.
BTW. To my ears no other steel had the great tone of a ZB.
