Why are the Sho-Bud Permanents and Fingertips not selling for $15,000.00??? Same goes for the pre-1970 Emmons and others that are in good clean working order. Vintage Martin guitars of the same year are fetching $10k on any given Sunday... They say it's because of the desirability of a Brazilian rosewood guitar. My '65 Fingertip has got enough Brazilian Rosewood in it to build TWO Martin guitars...?

It's due to a little thing they call supply and demand. Sure, you could build two drednaughts with the wood in your 'Bud, but it would have to be a "mosaic" style back and sides Rolling Eyes

you should stop worrying about the trade you made and the value of your sho-bud and start playing it and enjoying it.
unless you're more into sales and such.

Jake - I say crow all you want! You love your guitar - tell the world. The forum is for all of us. There's a few who like to think because they post so often their voices are more important. They're not. You want to keep talking about your guitar? I, for one, am happy to see it.

It's a gorgeous guitar, with gorgeous tone.
But it weighs like a boat anchor and has a reputation for playing clunky.
So modern guitars are lighter and have a reputation for playing better.
On the plus side, if this is your kind of axe, it's affordable.

That's a good point, Lane. There are things that I like that are unimportant to most of the world and because of that, I can afford them when I find them. Smile
