I will sit for hours and play my old 1956 Fender T8 and say to myself..."man I love this old steel and the music that can be played on it". Then I will sit for hours and play my new Justice Judge D10 and say to myself "man it sure is fun to push pedals and get that sound". I started playing steel in 1969 and went quickly from the non-pedal to the pedal (first one was a Fender 400)...I should have learned more rudiments on the old fender quad that I had, and wish I still had ! No point to this post really, just wanted to express the joy that the steel guitar brings to my life. (I also sit for hours and play my Gretsch Country Gentleman thumb style, the old Merle Travis and Chet tunes and love that as well). What would the world be without music !! Pretty boring place me thinks ! Smile I am sure many of you feel the exact same way !

That's exactly the point! ...the joy that the steel guitar brings to our lives. Cool Pedals, no pedals, electric, acoustic, it's all good.

I'm waiting for that 3rd book, too.

I was messing around with an old Fender 6-string steel, pulled out one of Doug's books and, boy, was that fun.
