Number 6 string G# is coming back 10or12cents sharp
It's been bugging the s||| out of me. First I thought it might be this .020 string on here, but I think it may be in the roller or the tuning key. Gonna check it out. Could be some crud. I dont care
for .017 and a .020 on five and six. The string gauge should not make any difference. All strings should return to whatever pitch they are tuned too. Most likely just a lubrication issue (perhaps the most common issue on steel guitars!) |

Coming back sharp from what? Raise or lower? |

Sorry I neglected to mention, coming back from the raise. I believe I've corrected the problem. I cranked the no.6 string down and rotated the roller,
also tightened the screw on top of the tuning key a tad. It didn't feel right. Any how it's fine now.
I appreciate the input. Tenn. Good work, two other things I see in these situations are: 1) Lack of lubrication, dragging rods etc, and 2) the nylon nut does not have enough free play from the finger hole. _________________ A.K.A Chappy. |
