The back of this little amp is marked 200 watts @ 4 ohms. Would it damage this amp to use an 8 ohm speaker? I realize it would have a loss in power.

It won't hurt the amp at all. You can run two 8 ohm speakers if you wish and the drop in volume won't even be noticed as typically we only use the first third of volume control on most amps.

If you run two 8's you're back at 4ohms... unless you take special pains to series them.

I run two 8ohm Eminence 12" Patriots w/a MB500 and it works very well.
