I saw Adrian perform several years ago and was amazed. His use of the tuners combined with his ability to use complex multi-string oblique bends made him unique.
At the time I was struck by his approach. Rather than imitating a pedal steel (poorly) using bends and the volume control like so many telewhackers, he approached his arrangements with the kind of thinking that a seasoned pedal steel player might. I don't think he played a single pedal steel lick, it was all in his sensibilities. |

Do either of you guys know if Adrian uses the standard Ovation on board piezo pickup? I have a very nice round hole Ovation with an ebony fingerboard and 7 or 8 Keith/Scruggs banjo tuners with which I could make a nice Adrian Legg style guitar... It also has a Bowden B bender for Ovations (see pictures) that would help with some other licks......Thanks, JH in Va.

When I saw him he was playing a solid body of a brand I didn't recognize. It sounded a bit like he Was using the guitar's sound mixed with MIDI sounds. The MIDI triggered a classical guitar sample. I could be completely wrong, but that's how it sounded to me. |
