Simmons is a fine character actor and did his best with the material he was given but I must disagree. I found the film preposterous, paper thin, ridiculous and kinda insulting to musicians. People look at the same thing and see opposite things. That's what makes art and horse races, I guess. _________________ Steel Guitar Books! Website: www.volkmediabooks.com |

I enjoyed the film very much and it brought back some memories of a teacher I had in my college studio band. He was not as over the top of course but had a way of making guys feel about two inches tall if they were not performing up to his standards. The horn player I work with is a H.S. music teacher and said he would be in jail right quick with that kind of behavior. He sent this parody along to me and I thought some might get a chuckle out of it. |

I really didn't care for the movie, either. I'm also not a fan of that type of '70s sounding big band music.
However, I did have quite a laugh towards the end of the movie when the kid took over the program and gave the finger to the teacher while his right hand played the ride cymbal. _________________ Links to streaming music, websites, YouTube: Links |

Damir,
I thought the movie was great too. It reminded me (just a little) of my Dad's teaching methods... Ha! It really does take uncommon effort to achieve uncommon results.
Thanks for sharing,
